Dual education

A DUAL LEARNING SYSTEM – BASIC INFORMATION
Practical education is conducted at the employer’s premises Metales, Ltd. M. R. Štefánika, 44, Dolný Kubín. It is provided for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades by the employer started from Monday to Friday during every second calendar week, from 07:00 am to 14:00 pm (the morning shift) and from 14.00 pm to 21.00 pm (the afternoon shift).
Theoretical education takes place at the Secondary School of Polytechnic, Jelšavská 404, 02601 Dolný Kubín- Kňažia. It is provided by the school from Monday to Friday every second calendar week, according to the school’s educational schedule.
POSSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYMENT
The employer provides practical training as a part of the vocational education and preparation for starting the profession in four years full time study course in the specialisation 2411 K – mechanic adjuster and in the 2426 K – programmer of machining and welding machines including the equipment.
A successful graduate obtains a secondary vocational education certificate, a certificate of apprenticeship and a final examination certificate.
Possibilities of employment: work corresponding to the profession 2411 K mechanic adjuster and 2426 K programmer of machining and welding machines including the equipment.

MATERIAL AND FINANCIAL SECURITY OF THE PUPIL
The employer shall provide a pupil with material security:
  • personal protective equipment to the same extent as the employer provides to the employee who carries out the profession the pupil is preparing for (the employer’ commitment)
  • Assessment of the pupil’s health, sensory and psychological competence (if is required)
  • Eating at the employer’s premises in the employer’s catering regime – 3.60 €/lunch
  • Refunds of of accommodation costs for a pupil in a school dormitory – 10 €/month during practical training
  • Refunds of travel expenses pursuant to the Law on Travel Compensation for Fare for the transport of a pupil from a place of residence to a secondary vocational school, to a place of practical training and a school dormitory and back as well as from a school dormitory to a secondary vocational school and to a place of practical training and back. A student attending practical training in Metales Ltd. always brings travel tickets that will be repaid at the cash-desk of Metales’ accounting dept.
THE EMPLOYER SHALL PROVIDE A STUDENT WITH FINANCIAL SECURITY:
The company shall award the scholarship for a respective class of the full-time study:
  • 2nd year-class: 40€
  • 3rd year-class: 40€
  • 4th year-class: 40€
Remuneration for a productive work done in the respective class of full-time study is:
  • 2nd year-class: 3,20–4,25 €/performance hour
  • 3rd year-class: 3,20–4,25 €/performance hour
  • 4th year-class: 3,20–4,25 €/performance hour
The provided financial security is governed by the internal regulations of the employer and the internal regulations for a dual and non-dual education system.
SUCCESFUL CANDIDATES SELECTION PROCEDURE CRITERIA SPECIFIED BY THE EMPLOYER:
Selection of candidates in order to make a learning agreement is based on:
  • Interviewing a candidate
  • Evaluation of primary school results for classes 6th up to 9th

Based on the agreement a student shall be provided with benefits corresponding to those the employer provides all employees with:
  • Free tickets to Aqua Relax Dolný Kubín
  • Free tickets for attending cultural performances in MSKS Dolný Kubín
  • Participation in engineering trade-fairs in Nitra and Brno
  • Possibility to participate in company events such as the football tournament etc.
